How to blur part of a video
- Open a video, or drop it on the page.
- Drag on the preview to draw each region, and choose blur or pixelate and the strength.
- Set the times if it should only show for a part, then select Blur video and save it.
As many regions as you need
Draw a region over everything you want to hide. Each has its own effect, strength and times, so one can cover a screen for the whole video and another a passing car for three seconds.
Regions stay where you draw them
The tool does not follow moving things. For someone who moves, draw a larger region or several in a row with their own times, then watch the whole result before you share it.
Private from the first step
The videos people blur are the ones that should not go to a stranger's server. Here it never leaves your device, and the hidden part is replaced in the new file, not just covered by a layer.
Questions about Blur part of a video
Is my video uploaded?
No. Each frame is changed in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does it track faces?
No. Regions stay where you draw them. Use a larger region, or several with their own times, for anything that moves.
Blur or pixelate: which hides better?
Use a high strength for either. Small text and faces can sometimes be guessed from a weak blur, so choose strong settings for anything sensitive, and check the result.
Can the blur be undone?
Not from the new file: the original pixels in the region are gone. Your original video stays unchanged on your device, so do not share that one.
Does the sound change?
No. The sound is copied as it is whenever the file allows it. Spoken names stay audible, so mute or edit the sound separately if needed.
