How to resize a video for Instagram
- Open a video, or drop it on the page.
- Pick Reels, Stories, Feed, TikTok or Shorts, and how to fill the frame.
- Select Resize video, then post the MP4.
The right size for each app
Reels, Stories, TikTok and YouTube Shorts are 1080 × 1920 pixels (9:16). Instagram's feed takes 1080 × 1350 (4:5) for portrait posts and 1080 × 1080 for squares. YouTube's classic size is 1920 × 1080 (16:9).
Keep the whole picture
A landscape video in a vertical frame leaves space above and below. Fill it with a blurred copy of the video, the way the apps do it, or a plain colour of your choice. Or zoom to fill the whole frame and crop the edges.
Made on your phone or computer
The new video is drawn and encoded frame by frame in your browser, with its own video engine. Your video is never uploaded to us, only to the app you choose to post it on.
