How to rotate a video
- Open a video, or drop it on the page.
- Pick 90° right, 180° or 90° left, and Mirror if you need it.
- Select Rotate video, then save it.
In seconds, with no loss
Phones store the way a video should be turned as a note in the file. The tool changes that note and copies the video as it is, so it takes seconds and the quality stays exactly the same.
Turn the picture itself, if you need to
A few old players and editors ignore the note. Turn on Turn the picture itself and every frame is turned and encoded again, so the video plays the right way everywhere.
Mirror selfie videos
Front cameras can record a mirrored picture, with text the wrong way round. Mirror flips the video left to right. Combine it with 180° to flip it upside down.
Questions about Rotate video
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is rotated in your browser and never sent to a server.
Does rotating lower the quality?
Not by default: the video is copied and only marked to play turned. With Turn the picture itself it is encoded again at a high quality.
How do I fix a sideways phone video?
Open it, pick 90° right or 90° left, whichever turns it upright in the preview, and save.
Can I flip a video upside down?
Yes: pick 180° to turn it upside down, and add Mirror for a vertical flip.
Which formats can I rotate?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. The result keeps the original format where it can, or is saved as MP4.
