How to crop a video

  1. Open a video, or drop it on the page.
  2. Pick a shape, then drag the frame and its corners over the part you want.
  3. Select Crop video, then save the MP4.

A frame you can drag

Move the frame over the part of the picture you want and resize it from its corners. The size in pixels is shown as you go, so you know exactly what you get.

Shapes for every screen

1:1 for square posts, 9:16 for Reels, Stories, TikTok and Shorts, 4:5 for portrait posts, 16:9 for YouTube and TVs, and 4:3 for a classic look. Or crop freely to any shape.

Sharp, and private

Cropping keeps the original pixels at their full sharpness; nothing is stretched. The video is cropped in your browser with its own encoder and never leaves your device.

Questions about Crop video

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is cropped in your browser and never sent to a server.

What is the difference between cropping and resizing?

Cropping cuts away part of the picture. Resizing changes the size of the whole picture. To fit a video into a 9:16 frame without losing its edges, use the tool for Instagram and TikTok sizes.

Does cropping lower the quality?

The remaining pixels are kept at full size and the video is encoded again at a high quality, so it stays sharp.

Is the sound kept?

Yes, the sound is copied as it is.

Which formats can I crop?

MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. The result is an MP4 that plays everywhere.
